Overview
Join us for a historical and adventure-filled overnight trip to the stunning Cayo District. Our journey begins with a visit to Xunantunich, one of Belize’s most impressive Maya archaeological sites—once home to over 200,000 people. You'll climb to the top for panoramic jungle views and learn about the rich history of this ancient city. We’ll then continue to San Ignacio, where you'll have time to explore the local market, grab dinner, and experience the town's lively nightlife. Accommodation for the two nights will be in a shared dorm-style lodge, giving you the chance to relax and bond with your fellow Noma travelers. The next morning, we’re off to the iconic ATM Caves—an epic and immersive caving experience that takes you deep into sacred Maya ceremonial sites, including ancient burial grounds and crystalized artifacts. We’ll return to the resort by late afternoon, tired but buzzing from an unforgettable adventure.

Pickup - 8.30am at Umaya Reception
Driving time to first location - 3/3.5 hours
First Location - Xunantunich mayan ruin, 1-2 hours spent exploring
Driving time to San Ignacio - 15 minutes
Evening plans - Getting settled in to rooms and free time to have dinner, explore the town and go for drinks.
DAY 2
Sunday
Pickup from accomodations - 8am
Journey time to ATM cave - 1 hour
Time spent in caves - 4 hours
What to expect - You will be climbing, swimming through and exploring multiple cave chambers with an experienced tour guide who will be sharing lots of amazing facts and information about the Maya people that used the caves 1000 years ago
Journey time back from ATM caves - Approx 3 hours.Arriving back at Umaya at around 4/5pm.
** Note that your body will be fully submerged by water, therefore wear clothes and footwear that are ok to get wet.
